Dear Music Lover. Friday 13th May is World Play a Strathspey Day and we have a concert to celebrate!
World Play a Strathspey Day is celebrated across the world where there is a tie to Trad Music and Scotland. This year it is on Friday 13th (nobody say anything!) and the Nevis Centre is delighted to host their first ever event to honour the day.
Renowned harmonica player, Donald Black will headline a lovely evening of music (not confined to Strathspeys!) and chat. Donald is well known for his “wee stories” and loves to stay after a gig to blether with audiences in the bar. Donald will be joined by musicians Donnie MacKenzie and Martainn Skene. As if that wasn’t enough, there will be some local fiddlers doing a guest spot or two. It should be a lovely evening, where you can sit back, or get up and dance if the mood takes you. This event will have a relaxed cabaret style and the bar will be open all night.
Tickets cost: £12 full price, £10 concession and a special rate of £5 for under 18’s and Lochaber Youth Theatre members. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. The event starts at 8pm, expected finish around 10.30pm.
